Trick or Treat

This year, Henry was a lion, thanks in large part to my cousin Jill letting us borrow Jay's costume. It was a fitting outfit, seeing as though his favorite friend is a stuffed guy we call 'Mr Lion'.

Mark took Henry to a few houses and true to form, Henry cried every time someone asked him to pick a piece of candy or 'oohed and awed' over him. I guess singling him out is not his thing....and an acting career is not in his future.

Below is our first official family photo. I marvel at how the photographer could get a good picture of a squirmy one year old and anxious dog, but viola!

Happy Birthday to Henry!

Last Saturday, Henry turned 1! It was truly an exciting day....Grandma and Grandpa Franke were in town and 13 other friends and neighbors came to Henry's party. With all of the gifts, you would have thought it was Christmas, and of course, Henry was most amused with boxes and paper.

It boggles my mind that 12 months have passed since sweet Henry was born. Every day he is a gift and we witness new and wonderful things about him. We are blessed to be his parents and we can't wait to see what the next 12 months hold!

Below are the highlight of the festivities. We'll try to load a video of the birthday cup cake as well.

Standing Tall

Last week, Henry's new shoes came in the mail. Up to this point, he has been barefoot, due in part to the Houston climate and also because he has not enjoyed having shoes on. It took awhile to get used to these new kicks, but they keep him steady on his feet.

Next up....walking!

Bye, Bye Pool...see you next year!

Last Sunday, we said goodbye to our neighborhood pool until it opens next May. We enjoyed taking Henry this year where he grew from a mere tadpole to a full blown waterbug. We can't wait to see what swimming tricks Henry has up his sleeve next year.

ps - Notice the 'Franke' tongue trait with both father and son
