I can do it

Henry thinks he is hot stuff now that he can get to his toys. Pretty soon, he will climb into the cabinet.

Dancing

Last weekend Henry and I practiced our dance moves in the kitchen. I think he liked it.

"It has a look of whimsy...."

As Henry continues to crawl more, he is exploring new parts of our house that he hasn't seen yet. Or at least not from his vantage point. I like that Henry struck this pose while noticing the paintings in our foyer.

Henry is 8 months old (one week late)

While I was out of town last week, Henry turned 8 months old....hard to believe. Mark had to get the monthly picture and didn't have an extra set of hands to distract him, but nonetheless we didn't miss capturing the milestone.

Galveston Day Trip

Yesterday the whole family took a day trip to Steward Beach in Galveston with our neighbors John and Amy Okie. There were two dogs, two adults, one baby and one on the way. The day was an overwhelming success and we plan to do it again. And Galveston doesn't look too bad. We even saw the mayor driving down the street!

Love the Chronicle

Henry has discovered our magazine rack in his crawling explorations and the paper is too interesting to pass up.

"What is Obama saying now?"

"The front page is interesting, but I was really looking for the sports page"

"Ah, here it is!"

Henry is on the move part 2

Every day Henry loves to practice his new skills. This video is not high quality; it was taken with my cell phone. We are in more need of a camcorder by the day!

Henry is on the move

Today marked a very special day for Henry........he learned to crawl! I should have known that something was going to happen since he woke up at 5:20 ready to start the day. And when he has woken early before, something developmental is in the works.

Before now, he has creeped on his belly and has gotten around pretty well, but today he put it all together. Mom and Dad are very proud of his accomplishments; Dasher on the other hand will probably wish he still remained in one spot.

Hope you enjoy the action shots of him working his way towards the remote (what a man thing to do!)

Welcome LaKeisha!

Last week we said goodbye to Katy as Henry's nanny because she moved back to Minneapolis. She will be missed and we are glad that we can keep in touch. At the same time, we welcomed LaKeisha into Henry's life. Already she has started sign language and has a trip to the library planned for this week. We are glad that we found LaKeisha and look forward to all of the fun to be had with her.

Swinging

This weekend we bought a swing that fits on the side of our driveway. I would have preferred it to be in the backyard, hanging from a limb, but none were strong enough. And this way, he avoids the golf balls.
